The full pay range is $104,167.00-$156,251.00 annually. Depending on experience and qualifications.

We offer a bilingual differential for employees who can assist our members’ financial needs in a second language. Proficiency is subject to passing a standardized verbal assessment. Currently approved languages are Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Tagalog.

We are seeking a Internal Communications Specialist to join our team! This position creates and implements internal employee communications through the intranet and other employee engagement and change management platforms. Translates business strategies into key messages, develops appropriate internal communications initiatives in support of those strategies, and executes and drives programs that create excitement, increase engagement, align teams, and shape culture.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Supports organizational internal messaging strategy with editorial oversight and high-quality written content.
  • Organizes the editorial process across internal publishing areas. Defines content types/styles/channels/use case for the organization: e.g., intranet news and content; email announcements; Microsoft Teams channels; and meeting content; call-to-action (CTA); how to; blog; newsletter; kudos; need-to-know updates; alerts; guidance; engagement; learning opportunity; reference/about content; video posts; and other.
  • Monitors communication intake forms, provides feedback on audience strategy, drafts, intranet publishing, and talking points, and develops contributors’ content development skills.
  • Integrates various content types with existing or emerging channels.
  • Develops strategies for the lifecycle of content. Assess the performance of content by analyzing metrics, user impressions, and feedback on user experience.
  • Supports the publication workflows across channels, approves proofs, schedules, copywrites, and edits content.
  • Ensures that messages are grammatically correct and error-free, have an appropriate tone and subject matter and are aligned with credit union priorities and themes.
  • Manages proofreading, mechanical, and style oversight for content contributors. Edits drafts, assigns draft production to subject matter experts, and adapts content for audience, comprehension, length, and tone.
  • Simplifies and clarifies descriptions of complex strategic initiatives, business influences, and organizational changes.
  • Works with the Knowledge Management Administrator and the Intranet Governance Group to assist in planning for the publication of content by contributors/owners.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to gather requirements for content plans. Understands the priorities of business lines and prioritizes competing projects.
  • Develops and implements communication plans that enable smooth execution of strategy and business plans.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team on internal communications to prepare employees to effectively respond to external messages.
  • Consults with cross-functional business units and multiple levels of the organization with empathy and curiosity to understand drivers, barriers, and intended outcomes.
  • Implements metrics reports to measure the effectiveness and engagement levels of internal communication channels.
  • Maintains a consistent message, style, and cadence for various types of communication reliably.
  • Anticipates opportunities to inspire employee engagement with mission-vision-values in internal creative content.
  • Ensures consistent branding and design for brand recognition and accountability.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 + years’ related experience of internal communications, editing, and copywriting experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English or other languages/literature, Marketing Communications, Media Studies or related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of credit union policies, procedures and established processes.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, statutes, regulations codes and standards related to the area of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of corporate communications approaches and associated frameworks, such as change management, organizational development, project management, and employee engagement.
  • Knowledge of information design best practices: Uses design and communications software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Spark, Audition, Premier Pro, Stock Imagery); Canva, PowerPoint. Knowledge of virtual meeting software (Teams, Zoom, WebEx) and presentation styles for large meeting formats.
  • Actively learn by understanding the implications of new and existing information for current and future problem solving and decision-making.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with area Vice Presidents, Directors, Branch Managers, and employees. Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions and approaches to problems with successful outcomes.
  • Work under pressure or stress, handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines with frequent changes to priority status.

This position is eligible for Full-Time Regular benefits. Employees and their eligible family members have access to a wide array of employee benefits, such as medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage. Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance is paid at a 100% by company for the employee coverage. We also offer Health Care FSA (HCFSA) and Day Care FSA (DCFSA). Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our 401k plan. Full-Time Regular employees accrue 8 hours of vacation and 8 hours of sick leave, on a monthly basis. Full-Time Regular hired employees also receive 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, 1 floating holiday, 16 hours of self-care time, and 16 hours of volunteer time.

All benefits except 401k start the first of the month after 30 days of employment. Employees become eligible to contribute to 401k on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
